Scope of the role
This Product Design Engineer role sits in Advanced Concepts, bridging research and applied product development. You’ll take emerging technologies and turn them into credible, testable product ideas that can move into development.
- Translate R&D outputs into proof-of-concept products, prototypes and testable configurations
- Build CAD models and physical concepts for lab evaluation
- Run validation work with testing, benchmarking and structured experimentation
- Explore new applications, markets and use-cases for advanced safety technology
- Hand off de-risked concepts to design and NPD teams with clear documentation
Key skills and experience required
- Proven experience as a Product Design Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer or Product Development Engineer
- Strong CAD, prototyping and hands-on testing experience
- Comfortable working through ambiguity, incomplete data and evolving briefs
- Knowledge of plastics, foams, structural components and relevant manufacturing processes
- Experience supporting lab tests, user studies or structured validation programmes
Salary and benefits
- Basic salary: €50,000-€55,000
- Bonus of up to one month’s salary after year one
- 25 days holiday plus public holidays
