You’ll join a globally respected design studio pushing boundaries across medical, consumer, and lifestyle products. As a Freelance Industrial Design CAD Specialist, you’ll work onsite 2–4 days per week in East London, collaborating with senior designers. £350–£400/day with potential long-term engagement.
Scope of the Role
The Freelance Industrial Design CAD Specialist will support world-class designers by translating creative intent into technically robust CAD data.
- Create accurate CAD models from sketches and design intent
- Develop complex surfaces using Rhino and/or SolidWorks
- Balance form and function across plastics, metals, and mechanisms
- Iterate rapidly with designers in London and internationally
- Support early concept development through to prototyping
Key Skills and Experience Required
- 5+ years in consultancies as a Freelance Industrial Design CAD Specialist or 3D CAD Designer
- Advanced proficiency in Rhino and SolidWorks for surface and parametric modelling
- Portfolio of manufacturable surfaces in medtech, consumer tech, or high-precision products
- Skilled collaborator, comfortable working alongside senior industrial designers
- Able to work onsite in East London 2–4 days per week
Salary and Benefits

- Freelance contract: 1–3 months initially, with high likelihood of extension
