Bring your mechanical design expertise to the forefront as a Product Design Engineer, working on innovative consumer electronics in London. You’ll collaborate with specialist teams to solve complex challenges and develop functional prototypes in a fast-paced environment. This 3-month project (scope to extend) offers £320–£400/day (outside IR35), hybrid flexibility (2–3 days onsite), and an immediate start.
Scope of the Engagement
As a Product Design Engineer, you will provide specialist mechanical design services to progress consumer electronics from concept development through to tooling readiness.

Deliver mechanical designs and iterative solutions for consumer electronics.

Build and test prototypes to resolve airflow, ergonomics, and mechanical challenges.

Liaise with China-based teams to support detailed design and DFM.

Provide Creo CAD models and clear technical documentation for project reviews.

Manage agreed workstreams independently to meet defined project milestones.
Key Skills and Experience Required

Proven mechanical design experience in consumer products (consumer electronics preferred).

Proficiency in Creo; SolidWorks expertise considered where applicable.

Strong knowledge of plastic injection moulding and high-volume manufacturing.

Demonstrated hands-on prototyping and iterative testing skills.

Available to attend site 2+ days weekly, bringing own expertise and tools where appropriate.
Rate and Deliverables

Creo license and IT equipment provided for project execution.
